Hexa Education recruits subject and key stage specialist Teachers as well as Teaching Assistants, Technicians and Administrative Staff for schools across the United Kingdom. We provide both temporary and permanent solutions including daily supply cover, long term roles and permanent appointments.
The Hexa Education team have over 15 years’ experience in education recruitment. We understand that sourcing staff is often not the main part of your role but one which, if done ineffectively can become unnecessarily time consuming and even stressful. We know the negative impact this can have on SLT, department staff and most importantly pupils. At Hexa Education we don’t take this responsibility lightly and make the following pledges to you and your school:
We will always:
- Respond to same day requests immediately taking no longer than 10 minutes, and present a shortlist of suitable candidates within 48 hours of long-term bookings
- Be honest about our availability and suitability of candidates
- Send you full safeguarding checks before a candidate arrives at your school
- Advise you on all relevant legislation including Agency Worker Regulations and Pensions Auto Enrolment
- Notify you of staff due to come into scope of AWR and advise what changes you will need to make (if any)
We will always:
- Ask teachers to demonstrate why they are outstanding practitioners
- We perform regular quality checks to see how our supply staff are performing
- Contact our candidates weekly to check they are happy in your school and deal with any issues immediately
- Fully investigate any allegation involving our candidates and support you in your allegation process
- All employees of Hexa Education have received full safeguarding training & read the DfE’s Keeping Children Safe in Education Guidance (Updated July 2015)
- We are available from 7.30am to 9pm, seven days a week
We will always:
- Vet every candidate with a three stage selection process; telephone pre-screening interview; face-to-face competency based interview lasting approximately an hour; followed by a full completion of vetting checks in relation to the DFE guidelines
- Strictly follow DFE guidance for all candidates (all consultants have received Safer Recruitment training)
- Deal with your query immediately. We work as a team so everyone in the office will be fully aware of the needs of your school
- Check that all staff have the right to work in the UK, QTS (for teachers) and a current DBS registered on the DBS Update Service
- Ensure candidates bring their DBS and photo ID lanyard to each assignment
- We will never make any untimely calls
Once we have sourced a suitable candidate we complete the following vetting checks –
- Pre-screening telephone conversation to establish the candidates qualities
- Face to face competency based interview lasting around an hour
- Detailed 10 year employment history, clarifying any gaps that are longer than 3 months
- Two forms of Identification
- Two forms of current address
- Completed Heath Assessment
- Relevant Qualification Certificates for all Candidates
- Teachers are checked on the NCTL register for QTS – This will be completed every 6 months
- We encourage FE teachers to join the SET to obtain their QTLS Certificate
- Overseas Trained Teachers are checked through The National Academic Records Information Centre (NARIC)
- Enhanced DBS Certificate that has been received and confirmed as being clean
- DBS Update Service Status Check (where Enhanced DBS Certificates are registered with the Update Service, regular 6 monthly checks will be completed)
- Children’s Barred List Check – This will be completed every 6 months
- References are obtained covering a history of 5 years – This includes two most recent work references
Once all of our vetting checks have been completed and accepted, all our candidates will be issued with a Photographic Identification Badge.
